AAUP Suspends Strike to Spur Negotiations (11 Sept 2006)
The EMU-AAUP has suspended its strike for 24 hours, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, while both sides return to the bargaining table. Professors will be back in the classroom Tuesday morning.
Faculty will go back to work under terms of the old contract, which expired Aug. 31.
The strike began Sept. 1, after months of negotiations failed to result in a new contract. Negotiations broke down on Sept. 5, and classes began on Sept. 6.
